Community Organization Program


SAM's Community Organization Program is created specifically for nonprofit, professional, social and faith based organizations whose members want to be better connected to SAM.

What are the benefits?


For your organization
  • A 501 (c) 3 tax status which lets your organization receive a 25% reduction on facility-use fees.
  • A 10% discount on TASTE Events catering fees if you organize a group of 25 or more to visit SAM.
  • Two invitations to a Premier members viewing of a special exhibition (each invitation admits two).
  • Your organization's listing on SAM’s Community Connections webpage.

For your members
Join SAM’s Community Organization Program for free and your members qualify for 20% off SAM introductory memberships. All SAM members receive the following special benefits:

  • Free Unlimited Admission to SAM downtown, Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park and the Olympic Sculpture Park on the waterfront
  • Discounts at the Museum stores (15%)
  • Discounts on SAM lectures, programs and films
  • Discounts at over 40 local retailers
  • Discounts at TASTE Restaurant and Cafés (10%)
  • A subscription to SAMConnects members news and e-news
  • Invitations to members-only exhibition previews and events

Who can participate?

For your organization
  • Applicable to nonprofits with 5,000 or fewer local members.
  • Organization must have a 501(c) 3 tax status.

For your members
  • Introductory offer for individuals who have never been a member or whose membership has lapsed for two or more years.
  • Good for Individual through Ambassador level memberships. No other discounts or special memberships can be applied.

The process is easy and free

Register your organization by filling out the Make the Connection form.

SAM will send you a confirmation letter and email to send out to all of your members announcing the 20% introductory membership offer and other benefits, along with your organization’s promotional code.

Your members will be able to sign up for membership online, by mail, by phone or at SAM downtown or the Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park , and receive the 20% introductory membership offer by indicating the promotional code.
