Snofru was the first king of the Fourth Dynasty and the builder of three large-scale stone pyramids: the Meidum Pyramid and the Red and the Bent Pyramids at Dashur. Snofrus reign opened an era of military and artistic endeavors in Egypt, and he took an active role on the battlefield. The kings of the Twelfth Dynasty later deified him. His chief wife was Hetepheres, the mother of Khufu. |
