Hu

Located on the west bank of the Nile in southern Egypt, Hu is the site of a large cemetery and the ancient town of Diospolis Parva. Finds from predynastic graves in the Hu cemetery were used, in conjunction with pottery from Ballas and Naqada, to construct a sequence of dates for the Predynastic Period. On exhibit from Hu is a jar (see cat. no. 63a) and the Amulet in the Shape of a Fish (see cat. no. 78).
