Sais

Sais is located in the western Nile Delta in northern Egypt. From the Twenty-second to the Twenty-forth Dynasties, Libyan families ruled Egypt from Sais and Tanis. Sais again became the royal residence of Egypt during the Twenty-sixth Dynasty, again under Libyan rule.

On exhibit is a statue of Psamtik-sa-Neith (see cat. no. 45), an official, holding a statue of Osiris. This statue is a dedication to Osiris, the god of the dead, and it was found at the temple of Osiris at Sais.
