Flesh and Blood: Italian Masterpieces from the Capodimonte Museum

Oct 17 2019 – Jan 26 2020

Seattle Art Museum

Simonyi Special Exhibition Galleries

Flesh and Blood offers a rare opportunity to view unforgettable works from the Capodimonte Museum in Naples. Renowned artists of the High Renaissance such as Titian and Raphael join Neapolitan masters including Artemisia Gentileschi, Jusepe de Ribera, and Bernardo Cavallino. The show reveals the many ways the human body can express love and devotion, physical labor, and tragic suffering.

The exhibition is organized by the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte, Naples, the Seattle Art Museum, the Kimbell Art Museum, and MondoMostre.
