Grades K–1: 90-minute program
Grades 2–3: 2-hour program

Imitate the poses, gestures and facial expressions you see in Asian sculptures. Learn about the qualities these sculptures express, such as concentration and compassion.

Body Language: The Human Form in Asian Art

October 2, 2007–June 19, 2008

Grades 4–12: 2-hour program

Discover how artists create guardians and gods in superhuman forms to express such universal qualities as power, protection, compassion, beauty and harmony. This program focuses on Buddhist sculpture from India, China, Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan.

Journey Through the Arts of China: Ancient to Contemporary

January 2–June 19, 2007

Grades 2–12: 2-hour program

Learn about Chinese art and culture by exploring paintings, furniture, ceramics and sculpture from the museum’s widely recognized Chinese collection. This tour can focus on one particular theme, such as figures, animals or landscapes, or can provide a historical overview.
