Family Fun! at SAM Downtown

Second Saturday of select months, 10am–noon

Families experience a variety of cultures and artistic traditions at Family Fun Saturdays at SAM Downtown. Your family can create works of art, enjoy special performances, take kid-inspired tours of the galleries and more! Designed for kids ages 312 and their parents/ guardians. Free with museum admission.

Climb the steps to find Chinese marble soldiers and the original Sammy the Camel or create a masterpiece in the Chase Open Studio. The ACE project invites you to explore the cartoon forest, go inside the head of a child and be engulfed by a vanishing eye. Located along the grand staircase between the 1st Avenue & University entrance and the 2nd Avenue entrance. Find out more about the ACE project. Free to the public!

Have you been to the Knudsen Family Room?

Take a break from the galleries to dress up like a European prince or princess. Discover your own rhythm on a drum, or build an architectural masterpiece out of blocks. Located in the South Building on the Third Floor, this kid-friendly space is accessible to everyone who visits the galleries.

Don’t miss Family Day: It’s a Festival!

You and your family will not want to miss these festivals which guarantee to have kids moving and creating. Locations and times vary. Free with museum admission.
