Tour Description: Delve into the history and culture of Europe while exploring Old European Master Artists: Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: Treasures of Kenwood House, London. This interactive tour brings students face to face with characters from the 1600’s to 1800’s. Informed through discussion of the portraits, listening to stories and engaging in gallery writing activities, students will gain firsthand knowledge about fascinating individuals from the past.
Art Workshop: Old Master painters like Rembrandt, Van Dyck and Gainsborough often painted portraiture inspired by the masterful paintings of women, men and children featured in this exhibition. Students will examine the elements of portraiture and create compelling drawings, pastels and watercolors by drawing from a live model.
