SAM Gallery is pleased to present our annual Introductions show, in which we present a group of artists whose work is new to the gallery. This year’s artists include Lydia Bassis, Fred Birchman, Carol Inez Charney, Chris Crites, Diana Falchuk, Helen Gamble, Troy Gua, Virginia Howlett and Loren Nelson.

As part of the show, Helen Gamble presents Window #2, a site-specific installation in the gallery’s University Street window. This installation continues Gamble’s exploration of the vernacular: "What we use daily is overlooked, making it virtually invisible. We are too close . . . . Yet it is just this camouflage, being hidden in plain sight, which gives everyday objects the potential to be transformed. The chance to create a new environment, a new perspective for the familiar, drives my work. This literal re-viewing is both the catalyst and the piece."
