Beginning at the Patron level, members receive 10 one-time-use guest passes that may be exchanged for admission tickets. Guest passes must be presented at a membership station in order to be exchanged. If your membership does not include guest passes, you can upgrade your membership to the level or higher, or you may purchase tickets for your guests at a membership station and bypass the general ticketing line.

Can members get advance tickets online?

SAM members don’t need to buy tickets online for museum admission. Just bring your SAM membership card to the Ticketing Desk and we’ll issue you a free timed-entry ticket, even for special exhibitions. However, if you would like to secure your tickets in advance, member tickets will be available online soon.

Members may also pick up free advance tickets by visiting the Ticketing Desk at SAM Downtown or the Seattle Asian Art Museum, or the Information Desk at the Olympic Sculpture Park.

For answers to other questions regarding online tickets, please visit the online ticketing frequently asked questions page.

What museums does SAM have reciprocity with?

Members at the Patron level and above receive the benefit of reciprocal membership with other art museums throughout the country. View a list of museums with which SAM shares reciprocity.

How can I get on the mailing list to receive SAM program information?

Keep in touch by becoming a member and receiving SAMconnects, a bimonthly guide to exhibitions, programs and special member events happening at SAM throughout the year.

Nonmembers can sign up for a free monthly enewsletter, which provides you with the most up-to-date information on what is happening at SAM. Dedicated email newsletters also exist for SAM members. When you become a member, be sure to provide us with your email address to ensure that you get access to special monthly member events and benefits only found in SAM’s monthly Member Enews.

What are the art councils?

SAM's art councils provide opportunities to delve into the area of art that excites you the most; meet and socialize with others who share your interest; and become more involved with the museum. There are six art councils: African Art Council, Asian Art Council, Contemporary Art Council, Council of American Art, Decorative Arts and Paintings Council, and Native Arts of the Americas and Oceania Council. Art council activities include artist talks and scholarly lectures, private receptions and parties with curators and presenters, visits to private and public collections and artists’ studios, and much more. You must be a SAM member to join the councils. For more information about the councils, email councils@seattleartmuseum.org.

I'm a corporate member, how do I buy tickets online?

Corporate Members may use their company’s Corporate Membership cards to receive free admission to the museum. These membership cards are for corporate member employees only and we ask that friends, family and other guests pay the suggested admission. Unfortunately, at this time corporate members may not reserve tickets online, tickets are only available on site. Please contact your company for obtaining your corporate membership cards. For any other questions please contact corporate@seattleartmuseum.org.
