The Trust for Public Land and SAM bring PARK(ing) Day downtown by hijacking parking spots, feeding the meters and adding a few more square feet of green space to this green-friendly city. Developed by Rebar, PARK(ing) Day is a one-day global event in which artists, activists and citizens collaborate to transform parking spots into temporary public parks. This year's PARK(ing) Day event is presented as part of the 2013 Seattle Design Festival. Enjoy live painting and instruction from muralists Xavier Lopez Jr. and Ryan “Henry” Ward from 10 am–3 pm.
PARK(ing) Day takes place outside SAM Downtown, on University Street between First and Second Avenues.
Free and open to the public.
