Taking the Pulse: Performance at SAM
The Sparks of Glory Musical Witness Series

In conjunction with the free concert-with-commentary series on the music of the Holocaust organized by Music of Remembrance (MOR), SAM presents Aflame! Join MOR artistic director Mina Miller and guest vocalist baritone Morgan Smith for a song cycle on Nazi book bans and burnings, Harlap’s letters “Weeping in Fire,” and chamber music from Terezin.

A new performance-based program at the Seattle Art Museum, Taking the Pulse features a wide range of styles, genres and disciplines. This program reflects SAM’s commitment to exploring new trends in music, dance and opera, and literary and theatrical performance. Performances are presented at all three sites and are accompanied by discussions among artistic collaborators.
