The Salmon Return

Celebrate the return of local salmon at the Olympic Sculpture Park:

  • Use an underwater camera to discover what lives in Puget Sound.
  • Get up close with fish scales using a microscope.
  • Create your own fish hat and salmon prints.
  • Explore the stages of the salmon life cycle.
  • Learn what you can do on land to help protect salmon.
  • Hands-on art activities, games and tours for families.

Featuring activities by the following SAM Partners: Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center, MudUp, Network for Business Innovation and Sustainability (NBIS), City of Seattle’s Restore Our Waters, Salmon Safe, University of Washington Botanic Gardens, University of Washington Wetland Ecosystem Team, and Wild Fish Conservancy.

Presented in partnership with the Salmon Homecoming celebration on the Seattle Waterfront September 12–14. The Salmon Return at the Olympic Sculpture Park will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather.

Free and open to the public.
