Teen Program Youth Speak Poetry Slam at SAM April 11, 2009 1:30–4:30 pm Plestcheeff Auditorium

Youth spoken word is a cutting-edge artistic movement that combines art and literacy for a profound impact on youth and adults alike. Sixteen young poets and spoken word artists will perform at SAM on April 11 for a chance at the Grand Slam Finals.

Poets must be between 13 and 19 years old, and bring at least three original poems that are 3 minutes long or less. Doors and sign-ups open at 1:30 pm. Cost: $5 youth (under 20), $12 general. Visit the Youth Speaks Seattle website for more information.
