Creatively Speaking: The Artist's Point of View
Paul McCarthy and Richard Jackson
September 3, 2009
7–8:30 pm
Plestcheeff Auditorium

In their individual careers, artists Paul McCarthy and Richard Jackson have challenged the processes and conventions of painting. McCarthy used his own body as a paintbrush in his performance-based videos; Jackson took large canvases loaded with fresh paint and smeared them across the surface of a wall. Join these Los Angeles– based artists for a dialogue about the expanded notion of painting.

The Creatively Speaking series provides a forum for artists to explain the philosophies underlying their work and for audiences to ask the questions they rarely have a chance to ask.
