He constantly pushed painting beyond mere representation and has occupied a place between tradition and the artistic vanguard. Patricia Junker, the Ann M. Barwick Curator of American Art, reveals the artist's rebellious character and focuses our attention on the unconventional realist paintings in Andrew Wyeth: Remembrance.
