In conjunction with love fear pleasure lust pain glamour death—Andy Warhol Media Works and in honor of Gay Pride Month, SAM Films highlights a selection of early films made by Warhol.

In Lonesome Cowboys, Warhol explores the homoerotic subtext of the Western as a gay?/straight? drifter (Tom Hompertz) joins a gang of homosexual cowpokes in Arizona. His desirability disrupts the group’s solidarity, and hyperactive Superstar Viva amps up the tension when she starts coming on to Hompertz, thus making herself a vulnerable target. With Joe Dallesandro and Taylor Mead.
