Seattle Arts & Lectures Presents John Richardson December 8, 2010 7:30–9 pm Benaroya Hall

Pablo Picasso's foremost biographer John Richardson discusses the artist's life and work with art historian Gijs van Hensbergen (author of Guernica and Gaudí), who is working with Richardson on the fourth volume of his brilliant epic, A Life of Picasso.

In the post-war years, Picasso spent considerable time in southern France, where Richardson lived from 1949–1962, converting the Château de Castille into a private museum of Cubism. Picasso was a frequent visitor, and encouraged Richardson to embark on a study of the artist's work. Richardson most recently curated Picasso: The Mediterranean Years at the Gagosian Gallery in London.
