SAM Tours
My Favorite Things tours bring some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art. This week SAM offers a tour of Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris by artist Elias Hansen in conjunction with City Arts Fest 2010. Be sure to purchase admission for 6:20 p.m. entry to the special exhibition galleries to attend this tour. Elias Hansen studied at the New Orleans School of Glass and Print in 2001. He currently lives in Tacoma, Washington. Solo shows include This is the Last Place I Could Hide at Maccarone Gallery in New York; We Used to Get So High at Lawrimore Project, Seattle and All Programs Subject to Change (with Anna Linzer and Oscar Tuazon) as part of the Western Bridge New Years Project in Seattle. Hansen is also the recipient of the 2010 PONCHO Special Recognition award.
Free with museum admission. Tour meets in in the Lockwood Foundation Living Room in the Fourth Floor special exhibition galleries. SAM is a recipient of The Wallace Foundation Excellence Award, created to support exemplary arts organizations to pioneer effective practices to engage more people in high-value arts activities.
