My Favorite Things: Zoe Scofield
December 3, 2010
6:30–7 pm
Third Floor Galleries

My Favorite Things tours bring some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art. This week's tour features Seattle-based artist and choreographer Zoe Scofield.

Zoe Scofield, one half of dance and visual art company zoe|juniper, brings her knowledge as an artist, dancer, choreographer, protagonist and witness to talk about works in SAM's permanent collection. While viewing the Picasso exhibition, Zoe was struck by the following quote:

God is really another artist. He invented the giraffe, the elephant, and the cat. He has no real style, he just keeps trying other things. -Pablo Picasso

Scofield will use this idea as a starting point for a discussion of her work and the art on view at SAM. Join Zoe on her purely subjective and witty tour, which will include pieces by Nick Cave, Old Masters, Picasso, Cris Brodahl and more.

Free with museum admission. Tour meets at the top of the escalator in the Third Floor galleries.

SAM is a recipient of The Wallace Foundation Excellence Award, created to support exemplary arts organizations to pioneer effective practices to engage more people in high-value arts activities.
