Arts of Asia: Highlights from the Seattle Asian Art Museum
December 19, 2010
11:30 am–12:30 pm
Fuller Garden Court

This 60-minute cultural tour offers a unique opportunity to compare and contrast works of 5,000 years of Chinese art with a special emphasis on contemporary Chinese artist Wang Huaiqing during the run of his exhibition at the Seattle Asian Art Museum (November 18, 2010–April 10, 2011).

The exhibition, Wang Huaiqing: A Painter’s Painter in Contemporary China, explores the artistic development of Wang Huaiqing (b. 1944), whose paintings successfully distill conventional objects into essential forms, thereby blurring and problematizing the dichotomy of 'abstraction' and 'naturalism.'

Arts of Asia tours are Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 am.
