Writers in the Schools at SAM: Writing about Picasso

Pablo Picasso has inspired literary and visual artists around the globe to pick up a pen (or paintbrush) and create. During Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris, the Seattle Art Museum and Seattle Arts and Lectures' Writers in the Schools are joining forces to help bring Picasso's work alive for a new generation of creative artists. Students in five Seattle high schools will work with professional local writers to generate poetry in direct response to works of art in the Picasso exhibition and then have the opportunity to read their work publically at the museum.
