My Favorite Things: Highly Opinionated Public Tours
Gordon Orians
August 26, 2011
6:30–7 pm
Simonyi Special Exhibition Galleries

My Favorite Things tours bring some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art. During Beauty & Bounty and Reclaimed, tour leaders illuminate works in both the special exhibitions and permanent collections.

This week's tour features evolutionary biologist and University of Washington professor Gordon Orians. During his tour, Orians will share how he views paintings from an evolutionary perspective and explain why he thinks artists have used particular features and composition of landscapes to evoke feelings of beauty, ugliness, and awe.

Free with museum admission. Tour meets at the entrance to Beauty & Bounty.
