Public Tour Ancestral Modern: Australian Aboriginal Art from the Kaplan & Levi Collection June 7, 2012 2–3 pm Simonyi Special Exhibition Galleries

Featuring more than 100 works of art created in the late 20th and early 21st century by Aboriginal artists across the continent of Australia, SAM's summer exhibition Ancestral Modern: Australian Aboriginal Art from the Kaplan & Levi Collection presents the seemingly modern and intricate iconographic visual language of the world's oldest living culture.

This 60-minute tour introduces visitors to a diverse range of artistic expressions—from paintings on canvas and bark to sculptures carved of wood, woven of fiber and cast in bronze.

Tours are Wednesday–Friday at 1 & 2 pm; Saturday–Sunday at 11 am, 1 & 2 pm
