In close collaboration with visual artist Do Ho Suh, SAM's Interim Assistant Curator of Asian Art Catherine Roche developed the exhibition Luminous: The Art of Asia. During months of lively conversations over Skype, the two sought a new way to tell the story of Asian art today. In this opening day talk, Roche discusses the process of working with one of the most interesting artists of our time and sheds light on the Asian masterpieces on view.
