Guest exhibition curator and art historian Barbara Johns discusses the work and lives of first-generation Japanese-American artists Kamekichi Tokita and Kenjiro Nomura, who made their home in Seattle’s Japantown and painted the neighborhood around them. Leaders among their peers, they were active in the larger artistic community alongside Kenneth Callahan, Ambrose Patterson and Morris Graves. Their work is featured in the exhibition Painting Seattle: Kamekichi Tokita & Kenjiro Nomura.

A book signing will follow the lecture in the Fuller Garden Court.
