School and Teacher Programs
European history and art history have often been told as a story of exploration and discovery. However this view can distort and diminish complex histories. Through the lens of the Gauguin and Polynesia: An Elusive Paradise exhibition, this professional development workshop will unpack the concepts of exploration, tourism and discovery in an interactive, creative and engaging setting. Teachers will leave with practical skills, free resources and four Washington State Clock Hours.
