My Favorite Things: Highly Opinionated Public Tours
Matthew Offenbacher
March 16, 2012
6:30–7 pm
Simonyi Special Exhibition Galleries

My Favorite Things tours bring some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art. During Gauguin and Polynesia: An Elusive Paradise, guests will illuminate works in the special exhibition and permanent collection for these engaging tours. This week's tour will be led by Seattle artist Matthew Offenbacher.

Offenbacher invites you to ponder the question: What if (as art historian Chris Wood once asked) we consider "the nostalgia for centeredness and alignment not as the novel and fallen condition of the West, but rather as one of the permanent, even constitutive, dimensions of all art?"

Free with museum admission. Tour meets at the entrance to Gauguin and Polynesia.
