My Favorite Things tours bring some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art. During Gauguin and Polynesia: An Elusive Paradise, guests will illuminate works in the special exhibition and permanent collection for these engaging tours. This week's tour will be led by Seattle artist Joey Veltkamp.

Joey Veltkamp is an artist living and working in Seattle. His work has been shown at Tacoma Art Museum, Greg Kucera Gallery, SAM Gallery, Hedreen Gallery, and Sue Scott Gallery (NYC). Veltkamp is a member of SOIL, was the former City Arts Best Of Art Walk Award & After Party, former Visual Art curator for The New Guard. In 2010, he was a Neddy Nominee in painting and the beta artist-in-residence for Seattle University. He runs a Northwest-focused art blog called best of and is a contributor to DRIFT Magazine.
