SAM Tours
My Favorite Things tours bring some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art. During Gauguin and Polynesia: An Elusive Paradise, guests will illuminate works in the special exhibition and permanent collection for these engaging tours. This week's tour features Seattle gallerist James Harris. James Harris was born in Seattle, WA. He received his BA in Art History from University of California Berkeley in 1984 He was an associate director at the John Berggruen Gallery in San Francisco from 1984 to 1990. In 1990, He was the director of the Rena Bransten Gallery also in San Francisco. In 1998 he returned to his home town of Seattle to open the James Harris Gallery. Located in Seattle's historic Pioneer Square district, James Harris Gallery exhibits contemporary work in a variety of media including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, video and installation.
