First Friday Lecture
The Many Facets in the Worlds of Islam, Dan Waugh
May 4, 2012
11 am–noon
Stimson Auditorium

This richly illustrated exploration of the diversity in what is often seen as a monolithic “Islamic world” will show how Islamic societies responded to other traditions while creating their own distinctive yet varied artistic achievements. Professor Emeritus Daniel C. Waugh of the University of Washington has traveled and photographed extensively in various parts of the Islamic world.

Admission is free to members and adults over the age of 62 on the first Friday of every month. For other visitors, this lecture is free with museum admission.
