First Friday Lecture
Ancestral Modern
June 1, 2012
11 am–noon
Plestcheeff Auditorium

A renaissance by the world’s oldest living culture is flourishing in Australia. After thousands of years creating art in ochre, sand, feathers and other media, Australian Aborigines now invite viewers to make connections with their homelands and their laws through contemporary painting and sculpture. This talk highlights this visually stunning art work as featured in Ancestral Modern.

Admission is free to members and adults over the age of 62 on the first Friday of every month. For other visitors, this lecture is free with museum admission.
