My Favorite Things tours bring some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art. During Ancestral Modern: Australian Aboriginal Art, guests will illuminate works in the special exhibition and permanent collection for these engaging tours. This week's tour features artist Shaun Peterson. Shaun Peterson is a Coast Salish artist and member of the Puyallup Tribe. He has been an instrumental figure in revitalizing the artistic practice of the peoples of Western Washington over the past decade. He is a board member of the Bill Holm Center Research of Northwest Coast Native American Studies and a professional artist whose installations can be found throughout public and private collections regional and abroad. His work ranges from intricate to monumental sculptures in wood, glass and metal.
Free with museum admission. Tour meets at the top of the escalator in the third floor galleries.
