March 2, 2013

Simons Board Room

SAM’s upcoming special exhibition Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: The Treasures of Kenwood House, London, merges personal stories with old master painting prowess. Inspired by this exhibition, this interactive, art-making educator workshop will focus on visual biographies and portraits. Participants will foster new writing techniques and work with an experienced portrait artist to create their own work of art using a live model. Get creative, explore art history and develop a Washington State and Common Core Standards Based curriculum within a group of peers.

Workshop participants will receive free resources and teaching materials, entrance to the exhibition Treasures from Kenwood House and four (4) Washington State Clock Hours.
