One of the world’s most captivating stories, The Ramayana has inspired artists for more than fifteen hundred years. The Ramayana is pervasive in Indian popular culture—films, TV, outdoor performances during the fall festival season and comic books—as well as in songs, storytelling traditions and politics. In this 30-minute gallery talk, visitors will become familiar with the major characters and events of The Ramayana, while enjoying outstanding paintings from many regions of India.

Gallery talks are Saturdays, 11:30 am–noon.
