First Friday Lecture
Legends, Tales, Poetry: Visual Narrative in Japanese Art
April 5, 2013
11 am–noon
Stimson Auditorium

SAM’s renowned Japanese art collection visually enacts stories told and retold over thousands of years. Xiaojin Wu, Associate Curator for Japanese and Korean Art, discusses how works selected for this exhibition—scrolls, screens, prints, photographs, lacquer work, ceramics, and textiles—are telling examples of the rich visual narratives in Japanese art from the 13th to the 21st century.

Admission is free to members and adults over the age of 62 on the First Friday of every month. For other visitors, this lecture is free with museum admission.
