Music of Remembrance Presents Another Sunrise April 20, 2013 2–3:30 pm Plestcheeff Auditorium

SAM exhibition Morality Tales: American Art and Social Protest, 1935–45, examines how socially and politically engaged artists transformed moral outrage into artistic impact. Outrage has chilling musical expression in Jake Heggie's Another Sunrise, an intense musical drama commissioned by Music of Remembrance (MOR) that tells the extraordinary story of Krystyna Zywulska. MOR's Mina Miller chronicles Zywulska's life as a ghetto escapee, Polish resistance member, and Auschwitz-Birkenau inmate at this concert-with-commentary.
