Barbara Brotherton, SAM's Curator of Native American Art, discusses the exhibition Robert Davidson: Abstract Impulse. Robert Davidson has been a vital figure in the Northwest Coast Native art renaissance since 1969. This exhibition includes his radical interpretation of the old forms and his stunning use of abstract lines to create a new language.
Admission is free to members and adults over the age of 62 on the First Friday of every month. For other visitors, this lecture is free with museum admission.
