Neukom Conservation Studio Credit Line Conservation at SAM would not be possible without a conservation endowment established with support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The Foundation’s challenge grant in 2000 was matched with contributions from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; William and Sally Neukom; and Charles Simonyi. Construction of the Neukom Conservation Studio was funded by Charles Simonyi; 4Culture King County Lodging Tax; the Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation; The Seattle Foundation; and The Clowes Fund. Conservation activities have been underwritten by The Clowes Fund; the Institute of Museum and Library Services; the Ellsworth Kelly Foundation; the Samuel H. Kress Foundation; the National Research Institute for Cultural Heritage of Korea; the National Research Institute for Cultural Properties, Tokyo; the Sumitomo Foundation; and individual friends and contributors to special projects and the SAM Annual Fund. Project support during fiscal year 2011 is provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services; 4Culture King County Lodging Tax; the Fine Art Restoration Foundation; the SAM Volunteer Association and Docent Committee; and individual donors to the Conservation Fund and SAM’s campaign for conservation education in honor of Mimi Gates.Check out SAM on Twitter and
