Interesting that truths from 1000 B.C.E. seem to reflect the views of today's society in several ways. One example is that you can take it with you. Though this may not be openly stated it sure seems that a common view in this period that the more you have now the better it is. Just a thought. Another one - or two. We of today tend toward a simpler, if no less expensive (stress management counseling case in point) :) lives. The plethora of books, tapes, and videos with simple living advice, and their subsequent success points to a desire to lessen the extravagance of the world. And writing can work miracles. (1/7/1999)

they were so in touch with their religion, nature, and their way of life in general. In a way they were greater than us, sure, we have higher technology, but can we say that our main goal in life is to treat everything with respect and to live peacefully?
