Ms. Gates, Thank you for your time and efforts in the name of art! Many time have I traveled to Seattle to see special exhibits which I might not otherwise get to see. They have been amazing! I have even shared those memories of SAM visits with family; my son when he was doing a college paper on Expressionistic Art , my husband when I asked to see the Tiffany exhibit. All my best to you and thank you again! I will continue my love of art partly due to SAM and your work there!

Mimi, It has been wonderful seeing SAM evolve during your years as Director. It was my privilege to work with you during much of that time and I will always remember the great changes you made to SAM. You hired great people, engaged the trustees, opened SAM to the entire community even while creating a future for us with the expansion projects and the many wonderful exhibitions. Your enormous energy and commitment is a model for any museum director. I wish you all the best in whatever you do in the future but I know you will stay a part of our community and see us often.

On behalf of Microsoft and its over 40,000 employees and their families in the Puget Sound, thank you for significantly enriching the cultural life of our region. Thank you so much for your leadership for Seattle art Museum. You are inspirational and admirable. Your zeal and hard work for our museum shows in its success and the respect it draws from around the country. We are so honored that we had a chance to work with you and have learned so much from you. You will be missed tremendously.

Mimi – Thank you for your support of the SAM Libraries. Your advocacy has helped us increase the libraries’ holdings substantially, and, more importantly, has helped us reach a greater number of people. Thank you!
