You learn a lot about someone when you travel together. With the museum's travel program, I have been to 4 different countries with Mimi and I will say she is absolutely tireless. I have seen her go from a 13 hour flight--economy seat--directly into a full day with 18 museum members, stopping only for a splash of water on her face. Mimi's energy and enthusiasm is infectious. She works very hard and is incredibly down to earth. Through my 8 years at SAM, I have witnessed her passion and dedication to the arts. I have nothing but respect and admiration for Mimi and what she gives to the community.

Thank you Mimi for your wonderful leadership of the Seattle Art Museum. I am especially grateful to you for your openness to our adventure with Australian Aboriginal art. Few museum directors outside of Australia have been willing to exhibit and support this evolving art movement as you have. Your support have been very exciting for us.
