ERC Outreach Suitcase Reservation
In line with Washington State mandated school closures, the Outreach Suitcase program is suspended for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Check back this summer for Fall 2020 Suitcase reservations!
Outreach Suitcases are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that the dates below represent possible reservations, not what is currently available. We recommend that you request suitcases 6–8 weeks in advance. Due to the number of requests, we cannot guarantee availability. You will receive a suitcase confirmation email within 2–3 weeks.

The ERC has two satellite centers: educators in Snohomish County can check out a selection of SAM’s Outreach Suitcases from the Schack Art Center in Everett, and educators in the South Kitsap School District can access SAM’s Outreach Suitcases through the Arts4Learning program in the district office.
Loan Period: Suitcases are loaned for 12 days at a time. They are not renewable. One suitcase may be borrowed at a time.
Pickup and Return: Suitcases are picked up and returned from the lockers in the parking garage of the Olympic Sculpture Park. The suitcases can be picked up seven days a week between 6 am and 11 pm with an electronic code that will be sent to you in advance. Please make sure you have the code before picking up and dropping off the suitcase, as there will not be staff on site to help you with this. More detailed instructions will be sent as part of the confirmation. Suitcases can be picked up at any time after 6 am on the Saturday pickup date. Suitcases must be returned by 11 pm on Thursday of the return date, as we will be checking early on Friday morning to prepare for the next reservation. Please contact the ERC in advance if you are not able to pick up a suitcase or return it on time.
Request Guidelines: Up to three different suitcases may be requested each semester. The same suitcase may not be requested twice in one semester.
Educator Resource Guides: Once an educator completes the suitcase reservation process and receives their Outreach Suitcase confirmation email, they may request a copy of the Educator Resource Guide for the suitcase (includes background information about the objects in the suitcase and images on the CD, looking questions, and activity suggestions) to be emailed to them prior to their scheduled suitcase check-out for planning purposes. Please note, this resource is the property of SAM and may not be reproduced without prior written permission from SAM, except for educational purposes.
Summer Reservations: The ERC uses the summer to update, clean, and replace the Outreach Suitcases. Some suitcases are available on a limited basis for community programs and classes. Please type a suitcase name and date in the summer suitcase field below. The ERC Librarian/Educator will fill these requests as availability allows.
You must be registered as a borrower with the ERC (it's free!).
SAM reserves the right to refuse a loan if there is unreasonable risk to the safety of the material, or if an educator repeatedly fails to pick up scheduled suitcases or returns suitcases late.
