THE Ann P. Wyckoff Teacher Resource Center (TRC)

Beginning March 2, 2017 the TRC will be closed for our move to the Seattle Art Museum and into our new expanded center opening in fall 2017.

During the closure:

  • Keep what you have checked out or return it to our Book Return at the Asian Art Museum (see Drop Box hours below).

  • Want new materials? A small portion of our collection will be available by appointment through the Bullitt Library at the Seattle Art Museum on Thursdays and Fridays between 10 am–4 pm, and Saturdays 10 am–2 pm. Email us at trc@seattleartmuseum.org or call 206.654.3186 to schedule an appointment. See what's available by choosing the Location "Wyckoff Teacher Resource Center - Closure Collection at the Bullitt Library" in the Libraries catalog.

  • Outreach Suitcases will continue to be checked out through the Asian Art Museum on a modified schedule here through June 2017.

Borrowed materials can be returned to the TRC drop box (available 24 hours a day, seven days a week), located at the loading dock at the north end of the Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The TRC offers interdisciplinary materials to help integrate art into any classroom. Register as a borrower with the TRC for free​ to check out materials, access online image collections, and reserve Outreach Suitcases. TRC borrowers do not need to be members of SAM and include teachers, principals, home school educators, parents, art volunteers, student teachers, education students, and community arts educators. 

The TRC collection will connect you to 4,000 curriculum guides, books, posters, videos, and CDs, as well as an extensive collection of video and image kits from the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Register and receive a Complimentary Educator’s Pass for a visit to either the Seattle Art Museum or Asian Art Museum, advance notice about educator programs, and 20% off membership to the Seattle Art Museum plus a 12% discount at SAM Shop (proof of current employment as an educator is required). ​​​


Outreach Suitcases

SAM Outreach Suitcases are collections of objects from diverse cultures, times, and places that students can touch, examine, and discuss. Unpack art in your classroom with these free learning resources.​


Search the TRC Online Catalogue for art education materials (available for a two-week loan) or for the perfect online resource.


SAM has a variety of resources, both at the museum and online, to enrich your classroom teaching. Try the links to the right.

Looking for information about SAM’s artworks, including those currently on view? Access art images, overviews from curators, and related media from SAM’s online collection. Learn how​ to use this dynamic new resource.

TRC registered borrowers who are K–12 classroom teachers can also access ARTstor, an online digital library of art images, in their classroom for free.​​​​


All educators, including parent volunteers and community art teachers, are encouraged to attend our educator training events.

Workshops dig deep into one of SAM’s Educator Resource Guides, Outreach Suitcases, or online resources. ​
