Lessons from the Institute of Empathy
Pam McClusky / Curator of African and Oceanic Art
A trio of empathics recently moved into the museum. This unique hybrid species relies on artist Saya Woolfalk as their conduit. She founded an institute and a corporation that enable the empathics to conduct research and offer products that encourage new types of communication. How this species has evolved, and what they offer, will be discussed and demonstrated by museum staff as we celebrate the return of ChimaTEK, from our 2015 exhibition Disguise: Masks and Global African Art.
Lectures are held the third Wednesday of the month at the Seattle Art Museum. Doors open at 6:30 pm for Happy Hour in the South Hall where you can enjoy complimentary wine. Curator talks begin at 7 pm in Plestcheeff Auditorium.
