Member Preview and Happy Hour: Figuring History

Feb 14 2018

Seattle Art Museum

Entire Building

All SAM members are invited to a preview of Figuring History: Robert Colescott, Kerry James Marshall, Mickalene Thomas. Three generations of contemporary American artists offer bold perspectives on Black culture and representation. Presented together for the first time, the monumental, vibrant paintings of Colescott, Marshall, and Thomas challenge a Western painting tradition that underrepresents people of color.
