A Celebration of Dick Dale: King of the Surf Guitar

Jul 17 2019

Seattle Art Museum

Plestcheeff Auditorium

7:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Surf and rockabilly cultures harmonize in honor of guitar legend Dick Dale (1937–2019), who powered the rise of Southern California surf music and films, blasted out Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction soundtrack, and influenced everyone from garage bands to Bruce Springsteen.

Dale’s guitar-master son Jimmy, and rock music historian Charles R. Cross (Kurt Cobain: Heavier Than Heaven) will speak about Dick Dale and present Matt Marshall’s intimate documentary Dick Dale: King of the Surf Guitar, a SAM exclusive.

Purchase tickets online or at 7pm the night of show, at the auditorium entrance for $10 (cash/check only).
