World Music Series: Emi Meyer

Jul 26 2019

Asian Art Museum

7 PM – 8:30 PM

This program takes place at the Volunteer Park Amphitheater.

Emi Meyer

Born to a Japanese mother and American father in Kyoto and raised in Seattle, singer/songwriter Emi Meyer creates a personal blend of jazz, soul, and pop. Now based in Tokyo, she sings original songs with piano and throws in an occasional jazz standard.

Emi sings in both Japanese and English, but prefers the expression she has in English, her stronger language. After winning the Seattle-Kobe Jazz Vocalist competition, she went to Kobe to perform and then stayed in Japan, where she sings at small jazz clubs, works on music for film and TV, and tours in Asia.

Don’t miss this year’s series at the Volunteer Park Amphitheater—fabulous and free! Bring a picnic and experience a musical journey.
