Planning your Visit

When planning your group visit please note:

  • Reservations are required for all groups of ten or more and should be made at least two weeks in advance.
  • Adult group visits are not available the first Thursday of the month.

Group Descriptions

Self-Guided Group

A self-guided group consists of ten or more people arriving at the museum together to view the galleries without a tour guide. To avoid congestion in the galleries, self-guided groups are encouraged to disperse and view the museum individually. If your group brings a tour guide, they must yield to museum docent-led groups in the galleries.

Docent-Led Group

Docents (pronounced "DOE-sents") are volunteer educators who lead tours of the museum's collections and special exhibitions. Groups pay a flat-rate fee as well as a discounted admission rate. The fee is based on the type of group and the admission rate is based on total number of people in the group (see Group Admission Fees below). Tours last forty-five minutes to one hour. Tour topics include highlights of either the Seattle Art Museum or Seattle Asian Art Museum collections, or a current special exhibition. These tours must be scheduled a minimum of four weeks in advance.

Group Admissions Fees

The following group fees are available with advance reservations only. A surcharge may apply for special exhibitions:

    Permanent Collection Only

    Groups of 10–29

    $12 adults
    $9 seniors 62 and over
    $6 students with ID and youth 13–19
    FREE for members and youth 12 and under

    Groups of 30+

    $11 adults
    $8 seniors 62 and over
    $6 students with ID and youth 13–19
    FREE for members and youth 12 and under

Ticket stub is good for one entry to the Seattle Asian Art Museum during a seven-day period.

Seattle Asian Art Museum

    Groups of 10 or larger

    $4 for adults
    $3 for students with ID, youth 13–19 and seniors 62 and over
    FREE for members and youth 12 and under

Ticket stub is good for $2 or $3 toward one entry to the Seattle Art Museum during a seven-day period.
