The free community celebration of Our Blue Planet: Global Visions of Water will explore the environmental, scientific, cultural, international, and personal themes of the exhibition.
Inspired by the notion of listening to what the planet is asking us to do, we will feature an art-making experience with upcycled plastic that might have wound up in our waters facilitated by macrame artist Cari Simson, a talk with four of the local artists whose work appears in the exhibition, poetry and music performed by Shin Yu Pai and Jessika Kenny, and My Favorite Things tours with two climate scientists from the University of Washington. Plus, community organizations, a curated water playlist, and free gallery access. Join us all day on Free First Thursday to visit the exhibition and explore its themes through a variety of engaging and inspiring programs.
